The Episcopal Church strives to live by the message of Jesus Christ, in which there are no outcasts and all are welcome. Walking a middle way between Roman Catholicism and Protestant traditions, we are a sacramental and worship-oriented church that promotes thoughtful debate about what God is calling us to do and be, as followers of Christ.
The Episcopal Church is composed of 110 dioceses in the United States, two United States territories, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, Haiti, the Republic of China (Taiwan), Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Europe and Venezuela, and has an extra-provincial relationship with the diocese of Cuba.
In the United States, the Church claims a total membership of approximately 2.2 million in 7,155 congregations. Among its members are more than a quarter of all presidents of the United States.
The leader of the Episcopal Church in the USA is The Most Rev. Dr. Katharine Jefferts Schori, Presiding Bishop and Primate. She was elected at the 75th General Convention on June 18, 2006 and invested at the Washington National Cathedral on November 4, 2006.
The Episcopal Church welcomes you no matter who you are or where you come from! For more information, visit the Church's online Visitor's Center.
